If BC Children’s Hospital and Sunny Hill Health Centre introduced a Hospital Passport, would your child use it? Or would it be one of those things you put in a drawer and never looked at again?
Here’s the quick version of what’s going on in Scotland. Let us know if it’s something you would like to see adapted for use here.
About the Hospital Passport
- The passport will be filled with information about visiting the hospital and tips for coping with anxiety and stress.
- You help your child fill in the passport before his or her visit
- Bring the passport with you and share what your child wrote with the healthcare team
- Collect stamps and stickers in the passport at appointments
The intention of the passport would be to better involve the child in his or her treatment and to better communicate with hospital staff.
