Do you want to play a significant role in updating how autism is diagnosed in BC?
If you are the passionate parent of a child who was diagnosed with autism through Sunny Hill Health Centre within the last three years (ideally within the last year), we need your help to provide the family perspective in a multidisciplinary team that will review the Standards and Guidelines for the Assessment and Diagnosis of Young Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in British Columbia. The team will guide revisions to reflect changes in the world of autism that have taken place since the standards and guidelines were written 10 years ago. You will get support and guidance for the process, so no experience is necessary.
Dates: Thursday, August 22 and Friday, August 23
(you must be available both days)
An honorarium will be provided.
If you are interested in participating or have questions, please contact Susan Greig at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your phone number so that a phone interview and orientation can be conducted, if needed.
If you can’t participate in the two days, but would like to have your voice heard, a number of focus groups and/or surveys will be held in the future regarding the autism standards & guidelines. In order to receive future invitations and keep updated please join our Partners in Pajamas program. Your feedback will directly affect the programs and policies regarding autism at Sunny Hill.
