Message from the Redevelopment Team regarding Construction Noise
“Major renovations are underway at BC Children’s & BC Women’s to help us better serve the medical needs of our patients and families from across British Columbia for years to come. We understand that the noise, and sometimes vibrations, associated with construction are an inconvenience. We are working hard to minimize the impacts on patients and families as we improve patient care.”
When does the major construction work happen?
Avoiding construction noise during your entire visit is likely to be impossible, but the Redevelopment Project has provide the following construction timetable to help you plan your day while here:
- Monday to Friday – between 7:30am and 4:00pm. Generally, there is no major work done over the weekend.
- Coffee Break: 10:00am to 10:15am, no construction
- Lunch Break: 12:00pm to 12:30pm, no construction

Avoid using the Main Lobby entrance by Emergency

Parking in the area is short-term and very limited, so please leave it for people accessing the Emergency Department. Families are encouraged to use the free valet service, or to use the entrance off of Oak Street (by Second Cup) or the North Entrance (#17).
