Big parking and access changes are temporarily taking place at BC Children’s Hospital this weekend. There will be a large crane on site outside of the Emergency entrance from Friday, January 31 until Sunday February 2, as part of the construction of new lab facilities in the building.
Entering the hospital
Beginning Friday at 5:00pm until Sunday night, all patients and families will need to enter and exit the hospital through the North entrance (#17). Patients accessing the Emergency Department must also use the north entrance. See map below.
To access the Ambulatory Care Building (the one with Starbucks) please use the overhead walkway located on the second floor of the BC Children’s main building — take the elevators in the main lobby to the second floor and turn right.
Beginning Friday, January 31st, at 6:00am until the evening of Sunday, February 2nd, parking in front of the Emergency entrance & the main lobby entrance (doors #35 & #37) will be reserved for ambulances only. Parking will also be temporarily unavailable in front of the Ambulatory Care Building; however a small drop off area will be available for emergency patients. Flaggers will be in the area directing traffic.
Please use the underground parkade or the above ground parking near door 17 while this work is underway.
